Nicoff (formerly called PayUp, at getpayup.app) and getnicoff.app are run by Robin Choi, an individual developer ("we", "us"). Robin Choi is responsible for the personal information described here and can be reached at hello@getnicoff.app.
The short version: Nicoff is a tool for logging and cutting down nicotine (vapes, cigarettes, and nicotine pouches). It has no accounts and no servers of its own. Everything you log, your plan, and the character you pick stay on your iPhone. We don't collect any of it, and your nicotine and health-related records are never sent to us or to anyone else. The only outside services involved are Apple, which handles payment, and RevenueCat, which checks whether your subscription is active.
If you join the launch waitlist on this website, we keep your email only to confirm your signup and tell you when Nicoff launches (see section 5).
1. No account, no Nicoff servers
You don't sign up, log in, or give us your name or email to use Nicoff. The app doesn't send your data to any server we run, and we don't use advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking tools. We don't sell or share your data. Because we don't track you, we don't change anything in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal; there's nothing to turn off.
2. What's stored on your iPhone
Nicoff saves the following only on your device. It is not sent to us, to RevenueCat, or to any other company:
- Your products: which ones you use (for example a disposable vape, pods, cigarettes, or pouches), how you count them, and the details you enter from the label or pack, such as price, nicotine strength, volume, puffs per device, and pieces per pack, plus your usual amount per day.
- Your logs: the time of each puff, session, device, cigarette, or pouch you log, the estimated nicotine it stands for, and each time you tap "I resisted" or ride out the Craving SOS timer. If you choose to answer, what you did to get through it (for example water or a walk).
- Your cut-down plan: your quit date, your measuring days, and the daily limits worked out from your own logs.
- Your coins and streak insurance, which are worked out from your logs.
- Your reason for quitting, if you write one, and the character you pick (for example "Future you").
- Settings such as your usual wake-up time, if you enter it (used to show how long after waking you first used nicotine), and whether craving forecasts are on.
Numbers such as estimated nicotine in your body, money saved, and your recovery timeline are calculated on your iPhone from these records. They are estimates, not medical information.
If you allow notifications, Nicoff schedules them on your iPhone: a reminder before a free trial ends, and, if you turn them on, craving forecasts a few minutes before the times you usually use nicotine, worked out from your own recent logs. They're created and shown on your device; nothing is sent to us.
Nicoff can show today's count, estimated nicotine, and time since your last use on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island (a Live Activity), and in its Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. You can also log from widgets, the Action button, Shortcuts, and Siri. These are handled on your iPhone. The app shares totals with its widgets through storage on your iPhone only; individual logs and your reason aren't put there. You can turn Live Activities off for Nicoff in iPhone Settings.
If you share a card (your character, days, amount cut, and money saved), Nicoff makes the image on your iPhone. It goes only where you choose, such as an app you share it to.
This data is deleted when you delete Nicoff, or when you choose Settings → Delete all data in the app. Like other app data, it may be included in your iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) if you have those turned on. Those backups are handled by Apple, not by us.
3. Health information
Your nicotine logs can say something about your health. Nicoff keeps them only on your iPhone and never sends them to us or to any third party. Nicoff doesn't read or write Apple Health data. Nothing in Nicoff is medical advice.
4. Subscriptions: Apple and RevenueCat
Apple processes all payments. We never see your card or payment details. Apple's handling of your information is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat is the service we use to check whether your subscription is active. When the app checks or updates your subscription, RevenueCat receives:
- Your purchase history for Nicoff from Apple (for example, which plan you bought, its price and currency, and transaction dates).
- A random anonymous ID that RevenueCat creates. We don't connect this ID to your name, email, or any account.
- Your locale and currency code, plus the technical information any device sends with an internet request, such as its IP address and app version.
RevenueCat doesn't receive your products, logs, plan, reason, character, or any health information. We use RevenueCat only to manage subscriptions, not for advertising or tracking. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
5. Website waitlist
If you sign up on getnicoff.app to hear about the launch:
- We store only your email address and the time you signed up. Nothing else.
- We use it only to send one confirmation email when you sign up and one email when Nicoff launches. No newsletters, no marketing.
- We never sell or share it.
- We delete it after sending the launch email, or sooner if you ask us to.
To be removed: email hello@getnicoff.app with "Remove me" from the address you signed up with (or tell us that address). We delete it within 7 days and reply to confirm. You don't need to give a reason. Cloudflare keeps short-term database backups, so a deleted email can stay in those backups for up to 30 days before it's gone for good.
The list is stored in a database run by Cloudflare, which hosts this website. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles technical information such as your IP address to deliver the page and block abuse; we don't store it with your email. To stop repeated sign-ups, the form also uses a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for about a minute; it isn't saved. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Emails to the waitlist are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. Resend receives your email address and the message we send you, and processes them only to deliver it. Resend keeps a record of sent emails for a limited time under its own policy. See the Resend Privacy Policy.
6. Age and children
Nicoff is rated 18+ on the App Store and is meant for adults. It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
7. Your choices
- Delete everything Nicoff stored on your iPhone with Settings → Delete all data, or by deleting the app.
- Turn notifications, craving forecasts, or Live Activities off at any time.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.
- For questions about subscription data held by RevenueCat, email us and we'll help.
- To be removed from the waitlist, email us (see section 5). You can also ask us what we hold about you; for the waitlist, that's only your email and signup time.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it on this page and change the date at the top.
